Why should I see Dr. Walrath?
By Joseph Walrath, MD | Oct 15, 2011 | Dr. Walrath, Qualifications
I have seen many patients who have been through the practices and operating rooms of good and bad surgeons, and some of them have emerged unhappy, due to a number of factors:
- Poor surgical results
- Good surgical results, but not those anticipated
- Poor communication
- Misdiagnosis or failure to observe true oculoplastic disease
Often, these endpoints reflect a combination of one or several of the following: inadequate understanding of the physiology of eyelid and visual function, deficient clinical observation skills, suboptimal communication skills, and then misguided surgery. Even the most technically perfect surgery will fail in this setting. As an experienced oculoplastic surgeon, I have a deep understanding of the relevant elements of visual form, function, and anatomy. Having taken care of a broad range of oculoplastic disease, I am an excellent clinical observer, and high quality surgery coupled with excellent patient communication have been hallmarks of my practice.
In addition, you can expect fair and ethical treatment and business practices, as detailed here.
